Stirling cash card thief admits stealing £10,000

A Stirling man has admitted emptying a bank account of more than £10,000 after stealing a bank card in the Borders.

Garry Gillies, 28, of William Booth Place, St Ninians, took the card from a house in Wilton Hill, Hawick, sometime during December last year.

He then went to the Santander branch in Hawick and cash machines across Scotland and took a total of £10,390 over a four-week period.

Sentence was deferred at Jedburgh Sheriff Court until 26 August.
