Scottish Borders fire crews control grain drier blaze

Firefighters have brought an early morning blaze at a grain drier in the Scottish Borders under control.

Crews from Galashiels and Kelso were called out to tackle the incident on a farm at Maxton.

A grain drier with 60 tonnes of oil seed rape caught light but the flames were eventually dampened down.

Firefighters from Selkirk and Hawick were called out to continue monitoring the drier. Nobody was injured in the incident.
