Langholm A7 crash claims pensioner's life

A 75-year-old man has died as a result of a single-vehicle crash on the A7 south of Langholm.

The accident, involving a silver Toyota Corolla, took place at about 15:50 on Thursday.

The man, from outwith Dumfries and Galloway, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary for treatment but later died as a result of his injuries.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling on the road near the time of the crash.

A spokesman for Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said the victim's name would not be released until family members were informed.
