Rethink call on fostering payment rise refusal

A decision to reject an increase in the boarding allowance payments for foster carers in Dumfries and Galloway could be reconsidered.

A 5.1% rise recommended by the Fostering Network was ruled out earlier this week on the casting vote of the social work chairman.

But Labour and SNP councillors have challenged that decision.

They have secured enough support to ensure the issue must now be brought back to the next full council meeting.
