Cyclist killed in Scottish Borders crash

A cyclist has died after coming off his bike in an accident on an unclassified road in a remote part of the Borders.

The incident happened at about 10:55 on Saturday on the route linking the A708 at Cappercleuch to the A701 at Tweedsmuir.

Police said there were no other vehicles involved and the 35-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for the procurator fiscal.
