Eyemouth cliff fall victim named

Police have identified a man who died after falling from cliffs near a caravan park in the Scottish Borders.

Alfred White Smith, 58, who lived near Newcastle, was walking his dog at Eyemouth Holiday Park when he slipped and fell at about 22:00 on Saturday.

Paramedics abseiled down the cliff to reach him but pronounced him dead at the scene.

His body was airlifted from the area by RAF Boulmer. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
