Body discovered in St Mary's Loch

A man's body has been recovered from St Mary's Loch near Selkirk after it was spotted by a member of the public.

It was reported to police at about 11:25 on Tuesday and emergency services were sent to the scene.

Lothian and Borders Police said the man had been identified as John Vollans, 41, from the Lockerbie area.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact the police.
