Woman charged with murder after farm death near Peebles

A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man from eastern Europe whose body was found on a farm in the Borders.

The body of Arunus Ramanauskas, 39, from Lithuania, was discovered in a steading at Easter Happrew Old Farm, near Peebles, on Saturday.

Eliska Novotna, 22, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. She was also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She made no plea or declaration.
