Langholm police seek Co-op car park hit and run driver

Police are trying to trace a driver who failed to stop after an 86-year-old woman was struck by a car in Dumfries and Galloway.

The incident happened in the Co-op store car park on Glenesk Road in Langholm at about 12:15 on Wednesday.

A blue car was being reversed out of a parking space when it knocked the woman to the ground.

The pensioner was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary by ambulance and treated for a dislocated shoulder.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have been in the car park to get in touch if they saw anything which may assist in identifying the blue car and its driver.
