Newton Stewart murder charge man granted bail

A Newton Stewart man has been released on bail after making a second appearance in private at Stranraer Sheriff Court charged with murder.

Paul McCann, 56, made no plea or declaration to the petition.

It alleges that he murdered David Brown, 40, of Newton Stewart, on 15 October this year.

Mr McCann, who made only a brief appearance before Sheriff Kenneth Robb, was fully committed and the case was continued.
