Man found hurt near Newton Stewart pub

Police have appealed for help in trying to piece together the movements of a man who was found with a serious facial injury outside a Newton Stewart pub.

The 24-year-old, from Gatehouse-of-Fleet, was found outside the Central Bar at 00:30 on Sunday.

Police said he was due to have an operation at Dumfries Infirmary as a result of his injuries.

They are keen to trace anyone who may have seen him to try to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

He is described as 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and with short, dark hair,

He was wearing a blue McKenzie T-shirt, dark blue jeans and Adidas trainers.
