Dumfries man in court on murder bid charge

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident in Dumfries at the weekend.

A 51-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the town's Buccleuch Street on Saturday night.

James Patrick, 23, of Dalswinton Avenue, Dumfries, was accused of assault to severe injury and endangering life when he appeared at the town's sheriff court.

Mr Patrick made no plea and the case has been continued.
