Woman in court over Christmas Day stabbing in Melrose

A woman has been charged with stabbing another woman at a house in Melrose on Christmas Day.

Leigh Lumsden, 34, who is from Kelso, is accused of causing severe injury and permanent disfigurement to her alleged victim.

She made no plea or declaration during a private hearing at Jedburgh Sheriff Court after appearing from custody.

The case was continued for further examination and Ms Lumsden was released on bail with special conditions.
