Newbie village house fire investigated

Investigations are under way to establish the cause of a house fire in a south of Scotland village which saw one person taken to hospital.

The incident happened in Newbie, near Annan, at about 17:00 on Sunday.

One person was taken to hospital for medical checks following the blaze which is said to have severely damaged the property.

Dumfries and Galloway Fire and Rescue Service has launched an inquiry to establish the cause of the fire.
