The family of a man killed in a road crash in the Borders has said he was a "much-loved, caring son and brother".

Graham Milroy, 24, of Galashiels, died in the accident on the A7 near his home town on Wednesday.

A short statement issued via the police by his family said he had long term plans to join the army.

The Lothian and Borders force is still appealing for witnesses to the accident involving Mr Milroy's Citroen Saxo and a black Skoda Octavia.

A statement issued on behalf of the family said: "Graham would have been 25-years-old in March and was a much-loved, caring son and brother.

"He loved music and working out daily and was a dedicated worker.

"He had applied to three universities this year and had long-term plans to join the army and was looking forward to the future.

"We will miss our special son dearly."
