Man badly injured in Dumfries car park attack

A man has been taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow for treatment after a serious assault at the entrance to a car park in Dumfries.

The incident happened at about 02:50 on Sunday when a disturbance broke out involving five or six men.

Police said a 24-year-old man had been the victim of an unprovoked attack at the Brooms Road site.

He suffered a serious facial injury and was taken to Dumfries Infirmary before being transferred to Glasgow.

Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to contact police.
