The rural affairs secretary has been in the Scottish Borders to officially open a £1.6m sprout processing plant.

Richard Lochhead was given a tour of the state-of-the-art Drysdales factory at Cockburnspath.

It received a grant of nearly £650,000 in the Food Processing, Marketing and Co-operation (FPMC) awards from the Scottish government last year.

It was one of more than 20 enterprises across the country which shared about £3m in funding.
