Selkirk hill rescue man 'stable'

A man is in a stable condition in hospital after being rescued from hills in the Scottish Borders overnight.

The 49-year-old had failed to return home to Stow on Thursday after hillwalking in the area around the Three Brethren peak above Selkirk.

The Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team was called out and he was found near midnight on the hill above Broadmeadows to the south west of the town.

He was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
