WRVS gives Margaret Kerr Unit a major funding boost

WRVS volunteers at Borders General Hospital have raised £178,000 towards the construction of a palliative care unit for the region.

The cash has come through funds from the WRVS shop in the hospital and other fundraising efforts.

It has been agreed the money raised this year should go towards the Margaret Kerr Unit.

John Raine, who chairs NHS Borders, said the effort was "wonderful" and "very much appreciated".
