Port Logan pier body identified

A man whose body was discovered on rocks near a pier in Port Logan has been identified by Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary.

The find was made at about 14:30 on Sunday in the area south of Stranraer.

Police confirmed it was the body of Jozef Vojcik, 22, of Slovakia, a cadet engineer on the cargo ship MV Fehn Sirius.

He had been reported missing from the vessel travelling from Belfast to Portugal on 6 March.

A police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances and his next of kin had been informed.
