West Linton police seize van running on red diesel

A van being driven by a 70-year-old woman from West Linton has been seized after it was found to be running on red diesel.

The Ford Transit was stopped by police on the A702 near the village on Friday.

Red diesel is cheaper to buy than normal fuel and is generally used for farm and building site vehicles - but it is illegal for road users.

Further enquiries into the alleged offence will now be conducted by HM Revenue and Customs.
