Dumfries and Galloway crash kills woman from Bury

Police in south-west Scotland have said a woman from Greater Manchester was killed in a collision on Friday.

She was June Burke, a 77-year-old from Bury. Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other women were injured in the two-car collision on the A713 near Carsfad Loch, Carsphairn, Dumfries and Galloway.

Police said they were keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the crash at 17:50 on Friday.

The cars were a blue Renault Scenic and a silver Suzuki Grand Vitara.
