Leadburn junction speed limit reduced

Plans have been agreed to introduce a 40mph speed limit at a junction on the Borders-Midlothian boundary where a number of drivers have died.

Three routes, the A701, A703 and the A6094, converge at Leadburn junction.

Scottish Borders Council has agreed to reduce the limit on part of the A701 in its area from 60mph to 40mph at a cost of about £3,500.

Midlothian Council has already carried out similar measures on the routes leading to the junction in its area.
