Stranraer man injured in disturbance

An investigation is continuing into a disturbance in Stranraer which left a 45-year-old man seriously injured.

The victim was initially taken to the Galloway Community Hospital before being transferred to Glasgow for further treatment.

Police said his injuries were serious but not life threatening.

A second man - aged 63 - was also treated in hospital after the incident in Lochryan Street at about 18:20 on Thursday. Witnesses are being sought.
