Innerleithen to Traquair crash cyclist John Barr dies of injuries

An East Lothian man who was hurt in a road crash in the Scottish Borders two weeks ago has died as a result of his injuries.

John Barr, 64, of West Saltoun, was cycling on the B709 near Innerleithen on 27 September when he was involved in the collision with a Honda Civic.

He was taken to hospital with serious head, leg and pelvic injuries.

Lothian and Borders Police said he had died at about 03:00 on Wednesday.

An investigation into the crash is still ongoing and anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
