Heathhall Tesco road crash leaves pedestrian injured

A 73-year-old woman has suffered a number of broken bones after being struck by a car near a Tesco store in southern Scotland.

The incident happened at about 16:30 on Saturday in Heathhall near Dumfries.

The woman was hit by a Fiat Punto being driven north, close to the Tesco Express supermarket.

She was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to a "number of bone fractures". The car driver was unhurt.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.
