Borders school religious policy revised

Scottish Borders Council has agreed a revised policy on religious observance at schools across the region.

Councillors Sandy Aitchison said it sought to give "clarity and definition" on the subject.

He said it was important schools were aware of good practice and had a "consistent approach".

Education direction Glenn Rodger said it had been some time since the area was examined but the council now had a way forward.

The policy will be reviewed within the next 24 months.

The full details are available online.
