Sudden deaths in Selkirk investigated

Police are investigating the sudden deaths of a 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman in the Scottish Borders in the space of two days.

The man was found dead in his Selkirk home on Monday and the woman died in the town a day later after taking ill.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said the cause of the deaths was "unknown".

Post-mortem examinations are being carried out and reports have been sent to the procurator fiscal.
