Dumfries wedding day horse carriage crash charge denied

A motorist has denied a charge of driving carelessly and colliding with a horse drawn carriage taking a bride to her wedding in southern Scotland.

Four people required treatment after the incident on the New Abbey Road near Mabie in December last year.

Bride Donna Pennycook was released after treatment and the wedding went ahead later in the day.

Ein Kirkpatrick, 66, of Torrone Cottage, Kirkbean, denied careless driving and trial was set for November.
