Steven Kindness and Derek Smith jailed over Annan attack
Two men have been jailed after they admitted assaulting an Annan man in his own home to the danger of his life.
Christopher McMenamin was stabbed and badly beaten by Steven Kindness, 23, and Derek Smith, 24, during the assault in May this year.
The duo had initially faced an allegation of attempted murder at the High Court in Glasgow.
They were jailed for six-and-a-half years each after admitting the assault charge.
Judge Lord Burns said Mr McMenamin had been the subject of a "cowardly attack" which had had lasting "emotional consequences" on him.
Mr McMenamin suffered a total of seven stab wounds and, although potentially life-threatening, he is expected to make a full recovery.
