'High value' Innerleithen house break-in probed

Police in the Borders are appealing for witnesses after cash and jewellery were stolen from a house in Innerleithen.

The incident happened some time between 21:30 on Tuesday and 16:45 on Wednesday at an address in Leithen Road.

A four-figure sum of cash was taken along with items of gold jewellery also worth a significant amount.

Police said the homeowners were "extremely upset" by the theft and urged the public to come forward with information to trace the culprits.
