Revised plans to give the area around a historic Dumfries landmark a £1m facelift are set to be made public.

It follows controversy surrounding the Burns statue square project which is now due to start in late February - a year behind schedule.

Late changes to the original plan - including a bus route via residential streets - provoked public outcry.

Redrafted proposals will now go on show at the town's Greyfriars Church on 28 and 29 November.

Councillor Jeff Leaver said he hoped the concerns raised by the public and traders had now been addressed.
