Kelso police seek 'road rage' witnesses

Police in the Scottish Borders are appealing for witnesses following a "road rage" incident in which a driver was assaulted near Kelso.

The victim was driving a grey Ford Focus through Newtown St Boswells at about 15:30 on Friday when a black Peugeot pulled out in front of him.

It performed a three-point turn to follow the Ford along the A68.

On reaching a remote section of the B6404, the Peugeot driver forced the other man to stop and assaulted him.

The suspect then headed off towards Kelso.

Ch Insp Kenny Simpson said: "Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident either in Newtown St Boswells or at Charter House, Kelso.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact their local police station or call 101."
