Borders General Hospital norovirus outbreak wards reopen

Wards at the Borders General Hospital which had been closed due to a norovirus outbreak have now fully reopened to admissions.

Several have been closed or partially closed in recent weeks.

NHS Borders said some patients still had gastro-intestinal symptoms and remained isolated.

Anyone visiting the BGH has been asked to limit visitors to two per patient and to use the hand gels provided on entering or leaving the ward.

In addition, if anyone in a family has experienced symptoms of diarrhoea or vomiting in the past 48 hours they have been asked to stay away from any hospital or nursing home.
