Gretna wedding guest dashed naked through hotel reception

A wedding guest has admitted running naked through the reception area of a Gretna hotel.

Mark Hamilton, 31, of Ashgill, South Lanarkshire, committed the breach of the peace in August.

A court heard he did not normally drink but had been celebrating with alcohol.

His solicitor said his client did not remember much about the incident. Sentence was deferred at Dumfries Sheriff Court for three months for Hamilton to be of good behaviour.

The court heard how the incident had unfolded at the Gables Hotel in the Dumfries and Galloway town.

Hamilton had been at the reception with his partner when guests had heard shouting and swearing before he was seen running naked through the hotel.

He was eventually detained by police while walking on the nearby A75.
