Springholm jewellery haul worth 'many thousands'

Jewellery worth "many thousands of pounds" has been taken from a house in a Dumfries and Galloway village, police have said.

A property in High Loaning, Springholm, was broken into some time overnight between Sunday and Monday.

Jewellery including necklaces, rings and earrings and a pocket watch was stolen in the raid.

The value of the jewellery was said to be significant but the total value of all the stolen items was not known.

More than £500 in cash was also taken.
