M74 works set to enter third phase

The third phase of a £40m upgrade on the main route between the Scotland-England border and the central belt will start later this month.

It is part of a five-year project on the A74(M)/M74 between junction 22 Gretna and junction 12 Millbank.

Once finished, the project will deliver more than 80 miles of new road surface on the route that carries more than 30,000 vehicles-a-day.

The latest works will start on 29 March and last for about six months.
