Inquiry date for Willie Davidson's death on Moffat farm
A fatal accident inquiry is to be held into the death of a farmer who fell 30ft (9m) from a shed in Dumfries and Galloway.
Willie Davidson, 62, died in January last year while working at Poldean Farm near Moffat.
The Crown Office has announced an inquiry will be held into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The hearing will take place over two days at Dumfries Sheriff Court from 14 May.
Mr Davidson was a well-known figure in the farming community in south-west Scotland.
He was a past director of the Royal Highland Show and a past chairman of Dumfries Agricultural Show.
He was also active in the Young Farmers movement and NFU Scotland.
After seeing his own livestock wiped out in the 2001 foot-and-mouth outbreak Mr Davidson joined a support group to help other farmers affected.
