'Distasteful' Dumfries church theft probed

St Teresa's Church Police described the theft of cash from the Dumfries church as "distasteful"

Police have issued a plea for information over the "distasteful" theft of cash from a Dumfries church on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened at St Teresa's Church on the town's Glasgow Street between 14:30 and 21:00.

A police statement confirmed that a four-figure sum of money had been taken from the church.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or with any information has been urged to contact police.
