Staffordshire biker killed in Dalry accident identified

Police have identified a motorcyclist who died in a crash with a van on the A713 in Dumfries and Galloway on Wednesday.

Jim Milligan, 52, of Cannock, Staffordshire, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near Dalry.

The van driver - a 54-year-old man from Oldham - was unhurt in the collision which took place at about 13:10.

The road was shut for about eight hours for investigations to take place. The procurator fiscal has been informed.
