Biker badly hurt in A708 accident near Moffat

A 35-year-old man has suffered serious leg injuries after his motorbike was in collision with a car near Moffat.

The incident happened on the A708 route between Moffat and Selkirk at about 14:10 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said the motorcyclist's Triumph bike had been involved in a collision with a BMW.

The injured man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment where he was said to be in a stable condition.

Nobody else was hurt in the incident but it did lead to significant traffic problems on the road.

Insp Neil Hewitson appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact police with information.
