Councillors are being asked to endorse a range of upgrades to school kitchen facilities across the Scottish Borders.

More than £400,000 will be spent on the projects throughout the region between now and April 2017.

The biggest single expenditure this financial year will be at Balmoral Primary School in Galashiels where a full production kitchen is being installed.

Meals at the schools are currently supplied from nearby Langlee Primary.

Other schools set to benefit from the investment include Sprouston Primary, Yetholm Primary, Broomlands Primary in Kelso, Peebles High School, Earlston Primary and St Peter's Primary in Galashiels.
