Driver, 24, and passenger, 23, die in crash near Duns

Two people have died in a crash involving car and a lorry on the A6105 Duns to Greenlaw road.

The 24-year-old driver and a 23-year-old passenger of a Toyota Corolla car died at the scene of the smash less than a mile west of Duns.

The accident happened at about 15:40 on Friday.

The road close to the scene of the incident was closed for about eight hours while police investigated the cause of the collision.

Police Scotland has appealed for witnesses and urged motorists to take extra care in winter weather.
