Cars stranded in cross-border snow at Carter Bar
Borders Search and Rescue were called out to rescue dozens of cars stranded in heavy snowfalls on the Scotland-England border overnight.
Vehicles were stuck in drifts at Carter Bar on the A68.
Border Search and Rescue Unit was called out along with neighbouring Tweed Valley and teams from Northumberland to work with police.
The operation lasted several hours as cars and lorries were towed back to the clear road from the border crossing.
"The specialist vehicles we use for mountain rescue are perfect for this type of thing," said BSARU's Damon Rodwell.
"The wild winter of 2010 saw us kept very busy with evacuating medical emergencies, snow clearance and various other weather-related operations, and we were delighted to be able to wade in again this time."
