Four seriously hurt in crash on B724 near Annan

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road crash near Annan in which four people suffered serious injuries.

The incident on the B724 at 16:15 on Friday involved a Vauxhall Corsa and Skoda Fabia.

The two drivers and one passenger from each vehicle were taken to Dumfries Infirmary.

A 17-year-old man, a passenger in the Corsa, was later transferred to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

His condition is described as "serious but stable".

The 18-year-old driver of the Corsa, the 19-year-old woman who was behind the wheel of the Fabia and her 24-year-old passenger are also in a serious but stable condition.

Police are particularly keen to speak to a lorry driver who stopped to help at the time of the crash.
