Man airlifted to hospital after Selkirk A7 car crash

A driver is in a serious condition in hospital after his car crashed on the A7 just outside Selkirk.

The man's Mini came off the road, overturned and went down an embankment a mile south of the town, at about 18:00 on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old was cut free by firefighters and taken to Edinburgh Royal infirmary by Prestwick's Royal Navy Rescue Helicopter.

His injuries are not, at this stage, thought to be life-threatening.
