Elderly couple from Selkirk found dead in New Zealand

The deaths of an elderly Scottish couple in New Zealand are not being treated as suspicious.

Mitch and Gladys Hogg were in their 80s and originally from the Borders.

They were found at their home in the Brockville area of Dunedin by their son on Sunday morning.

They were married at Yarrow Kirk near Selkirk in 1952 and Mr Hogg was a well-known cricketer in the town before they emigrated.

Police in New Zealand said post-mortems had been completed and their deaths are now in the hands of the coroner.
