Death of five-week-old baby in Dumfries 'unexplained'

The death of a five-week-old boy in Dumfries is being treated as "unexplained" by police.

Beck James Standing, from Stakeford Street, died on Tuesday.

It is understood he was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary after his parents found him unwell that morning.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said inquiries were continuing and the procurator fiscal had been informed.

He said a post-mortem examination has been arranged.
