Man due in court after police officer injured in Galashiels
A man is due to appear in court after a police officer was injured in a supermarket in the Borders.
Police said the male officer sustained a leg injury in the incident at the Tesco store in Paton Street, Galashiels.
He was taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment.
A police spokesman said a 42-year-old man has been charged with theft by shoplifting, resisting arrest and possession of a knife.
He is expected to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
