Motorway diazepam charge admitted

A Walsall man caught in possession of 400,000 diazepam tablets on the A74(M) in southern Scotland has admitted being concerned in supplying the drug.

Jamial Lal, also known as Akmal Yaqub, committed the offence in April last year.

The 33-year-old was found in possession of the tablets - worth up to £200,000 - on the northbound carriageway near Beattock.

Background reports were ordered at Dumfries Sheriff Court.
